Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your files, so the people you send them to can download them.
• Your email address and your recipients' email addresses, to send the link and tell you when it is downloaded.
• The title and message you add to a transfer.
• A password, if you add one. We store only a hashed version, never the password itself.
• Your IP address, to stop abuse such as spam and to limit how often one address can upload.

How we use it

We use this information only to deliver transfers, send the related emails, prevent abuse, and answer you when you contact us. We do not sell it or rent it, and we never use your files, emails or messages for advertising.

How long we keep it

Files and the transfer record (emails, title, message, IP address) are deleted automatically when the link expires. Abuse-prevention logs are deleted after 24 hours. If you buy a paid plan, we keep your email address, plan, end date and an optional payment note until the plan is removed. One-time sign-in codes that prove you own your email are stored only in hashed form and expire after 15 minutes. Emails you send to our support address are kept only as long as we need them to help you.

Where it is stored

Files and transfer records are stored on servers run by our hosting provider, Hostinger. Emails are sent through our own mail service.

Payments

Paid plans are processed by PayPal. PayPal shares your name, email address and payment amount with us so we can activate your plan on that email address. We never see or store your card details. PayPal's own privacy policy applies to the payment.

Cookies and tracking

Our homepage and guide pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings, and you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first.

The upload page and download pages show no ads. We do not use analytics cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google to download them. If you choose to pay, PayPal loads its own scripts and cookies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to delete a transfer early, or ask what information we hold about you, by emailing support@filetransferbox.com from the address you used. We reply within 30 days, and usually much faster.

Children

FileTransferBox is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
